Product Description

As of May 24 2014, I have a limited quantity of Jim White tripod heads in stock.  this is all that remains of his inventory since his recent passing.  We are still unsure what will happen in the future with regards to getting more of these heads made.  But for now, I have some in stock and available for purchase.

This is the machined aluminum tripod head created for hunters who glass a lot.  It is lightweight (14 oz. with full size plate installed).  It is just 3 1/4 inches tall and is 2x2 inches at the top.  All components are machined in the USA from 6061-T6 aluminum and are anodized to prevent wear and corrosion.  It comes with one full size plate that you can attach to your optics.  This head comes with one full size plate and a thread adapter so it can fit any tripod.  It has excellent features that make for very effective glassing such as sealed ball bearings for extremely smooth panning and a quick release plate system for switching optics without losing the chosen field of view.
You may need an adapter to attach your binoculars to the plate on this tripod head. Email me which binoculars you have and we can figure out which adapter you need. Or view this page to see our selection of adapters.

This head will fit onto any tripod that has a screw in the center column for this to attach to.  It can be made to fit a 1/4 inch or a 3/8 inch diameter screw.  If you are unsure whether this head will fit your tripod, email me and we can find out.  amanda@coueswhitetail.com
This tripod head will fit on all tripods sold on this page.

You can purchase extra plates so that you can keep one on your binoculars and one on your spotting scope for easy switching of optics.

"I use the Uni-Daptor tripod head because it is lightweight, yet rugged.  The head is also very smooth and the adjustments are positive.  When adjusted properly, I can move my binoculars on the tripod smoothly to follow a feeding animal.  It is also small, allowing me to leave the head attached to my tripod while carrying them on my pack.  In addition they provide two types of quick-release plates that I find invaluable to attach to my binoculars or camera."  Quote from Lance Stapleton, avid deer hunter and author of the book "Deer Quest".

I thought this was a lot of money to spend on a tripod head, but it is worth every cent. Very compact, lightweight, rugged, but still holds my big spotting scope flawlessly. Excellent product, would recommend this to everyone interested.

  3. Jim White Tripod Head 5 Star Review

I looked at a lot of tripod heads and finally settled on the Jim White head for its light weight, solid metal composition and fluid movements. While not an inexpensive option, they should last a lifetime. I bought three! Yup, one for my short/light tripod, one for my tall tripod, and I modified the third one to fit a window mount. All my spotting scopes/binoculars have the Jim White adapter plate mounted and I can put them on any of the tripods/mounts.

  4. Great, lightweight Tripod Head for hunting 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Aug 2012

I have used the Jim White tripod head for years now and I love it. It's small and lightweight and functions perfectly for glassing. I love the very short handle since it cuts down on what you have to carry in the field and doesn't get in the way while glassing. This tripod head is strong and stable, you can use it for binoculars or a spotting scope. Jim White is dedicated to making great products and I don't think you can go wrong with this tripod head!

  5. Lightweight, Compact, Well Made 5 Star Review

I have owned and used this tri-pod head exclusively for over five years. Both in extreme heat and sub zero conditions and have nothing but rave reviews about it. I like it's compactness as it doesn't add much weight to my tripod and it still fits in my pack. I would recommend this unit strongly and would by again.
